I'm so pleased that we are back in action with a working computer... nevertheless there are still some technical hitches (like not being able to add a picture to this post).
Investigate rationing during the war for our lesson on Wednesday and add your findings to the Blog. Can you record the information in a sentence which includes a semi-colon?
Parents' Evenings are this week so we will be having a tray and classroom tidy up! Booster sessions are on Tuesday and hopefully we will be starting cookery groups later in the week. Can you find any wartime recipes?

Butter, Margarine, Lard, Bacon, Sugar and Milk were rationed in the war.
In World War Two food was rationed ; farmers got 12oz of butter.

The Germans tried to cut off food supplies in Britain; They raided several British ships carrying food.

Did you know ? That clothes were also rationed.
During WW2 people would make sheets out of old clothes.
Farmers when they shaved their sheep the farmers wife would have sew the wool into a jumper.

Did you know? Rationing lasted for Fourteen years!
Did you also know? Before WW2 started, Britain imported over 55 million tons of food a year from other countries! Just after the war started, the government was worried that the people in the country wouldn't get enough food that they needed so they made ration books so they would all get the same amount of food as everybody else. Shop keepers often used stamps or crossed out the food they had had.They also did this because the citizens of the country often fought over the food amounts and asked for more than they were allowed, this often caused fights.
