Week 10: 999 visit and Sport Relief fundraising

Well done to all the teams, cross country, netball and football, for your super efforts last week.
On Monday we will be visiting Peterborough City Hospital to learn about what happens in the A&E Department in an emergency so please arrive at school promptly.
We are having the 'special' Year 6 group photo taken on Tuesday so please bring along anything that you would like to be holding that would reflect your interests and hobbies, eg musical instrument or sports equipment.
The netball team have a game against Peterborough School on Wednesday afternoon and on Friday the School Council have organised a fundraising day for Sport Relief.
Add some Sporty word problems to the Blog for your friends to answer...
I need 7004 red  footballs and 639 blue footballs?
They come in packs of 10. How many packs do I
need to buy?

Hello Mrs Green,

I can not wait until the netball tournament on Wednesday also the 999 visit too. Tuesday is also going to be fun because of our class photo. And I really can not wait until Friday to see what other people have come to school to dress in a sporty person. Also I really won't to read Kensukes Kingdom when we get back.

There is a running marathon and you need 246 people in it but I only have 130. How many more people do I need?

I'm very exited for this week.I have had another lovely weekend in the sun doing my vegetable patch, what did you do this weekend?
The answer to the question is 765.
I worked it out by adding 7004 and 640 (I rounded the number up.)Which is 7644 then you take one which is 7643 divide that by ten which is 764.3 but because there cant be three in a pack you have to add another pack to get the answer.
Becky's questions answer is 116.
You take 246 - 130 and that's the answer.
My question is : If I have 30 litres of juice for a party and our guests drank 22 litres and a quarter of the juice altogether? How much juice is left?

I am really looking forwards to the 999 visit and the photo. I can't wait to play netball.

My question is: There are 344 runners in a 5km marathon at 2.5km they stop for a drink. There are bottles of water or energy drinks. If 1/4 of the runners drink water and 3/4 drink energy drinks, what number of runners drink energy drinks?

The answer to Briony's question is:7 and 3/4 litres (7.75l) of juice left.

Hi Mrs Green,
I hope you are well and had a good weekend. I can't wait to the 999 visit on Monday. I am also excited about sports relief and can't wait until the match on Wednesday. The aswer to Mrs Greens Questions is:764. I worked it out by adding 7004 and 639 which is 7643./ Then divide that by 10 which is 764.3 and then round that to the nearest whole number which is 764 so thats the number.

The answer to Lydia's question is 2086: I worked it out by adding 1864 and 222 which is 2086. So that is the answer.

My sports question is: There are 1700 people in a 5000m marathon. 3/4 of them get to the half way point. How many people didn't get to the half way piont?
